Role 01
Player
Takes part properly. Learning to be coachable, to be swapped out without sulking, and to lift the person next to you when it turns hard.
A place for kids to discover what they are capable of.
A children’s development programme built on three strengths, running in person and online.
Physical confidence, coordination and team challenges.
Problems, puzzles and decisions made under a little pressure.
Speaking up, listening, and taking responsibility for something real.
Coming up next
24 October to 12 December 2026
An eight-week season in Nairobi, running in person and online. Fifteen sessions, Wednesdays and Saturdays, 9.00am, two hours each. Your child comes on both days, and the weekly fee covers both.
Who Sarabi is for
Children aged 6 to 14, in three stages. The three strengths stay the same at every stage. What changes is how much of the session they run themselves.
How Move and Lead work together
Every child is given a role for the season, trained for it, and held to it. They have something to run, and other people depend on them doing it well. Each role draws on the three strengths in a different mix, which is why children rotate through all three.
Role 01
Takes part properly. Learning to be coachable, to be swapped out without sulking, and to lift the person next to you when it turns hard.
Role 02
Plans the warm-up, names what they are seeing, makes a change and explains why. The hardest lesson here is that you win through other people or you do not win at all.
Role 03
Knows the rules, makes the call, and stands by it while people who disagree are looking straight at them. There is no faster way to build a spine.
Roles are taught, not handed out. Children get their own sessions before they ever run one, and everyone rotates so nobody spends the season in a single job.
Every child leads something before the season ends, from the first idea to the day it happens. That is what goes into the short Growth Note their parents receive.
How the season runs
In-person days build the energy and the teamwork. Short online sessions in between keep every child thinking, deciding and preparing for what comes next, from wherever they are.
In person
Wednesdays and Saturdays in Nairobi. Active challenges, team missions and real responsibility, with a mentor who knows every child by name.
Online
Short interactive sessions between the in-person days. Strategy, decisions and group problem-solving, run by the same mentor, on the same small group.
Built for continuity
Heavy rain, a venue that cannot open, a closed road, an illness at home, or anything else nobody saw coming. The session moves online and the season carries on.
The Sarabi Circle
This is where the rest of it lands. A consistent mentor, a group that stays the same, and the questions children do not usually get asked.
Built for kids. Built around safety.
It is the reason you can leave your child with us. Every policy is published in full, word for word.
Background-checked and ID-verified before a first session. No exceptions, no shortcuts.
Never one adult alone with one child. Never a personal phone number. Released only to a named adult.
Photography is opt-in, purpose by purpose, and you can withdraw it at any time.
The Sarabi Parent Note
Once a season you get a short note. Four things, one page, written by the mentor who actually knows your child.
Fees
KES 2,800 a week, covering both days, with a one-off registration and kit at the start.
Reserve a place
Go straight to the registration form, or message us first and ask us anything. We reply with the venue, the dates and the full form for Season One.
Fees
Eight weeks, 24 October to 12 December. You pay for the weeks your child attends, plus a one-off registration and kit at the start.
Sessions
KES 2,800
Per child, per week, both days
Covers both sessions that week, coaching, their role training, equipment, water and a snack.
Registration
KES 1,500
One off
Paid once when your child joins Sarabi. Covers enrolment, safeguarding checks and their place on the register.
Kit
KES 1,000
One off
The Sarabi kit, theirs to keep. Worn at every session so no child is picked out by what they arrived in.
How it is paid
Registration and kit are paid once, when your child joins. After that you pay for the weeks your child attends, and you can pay weekly or in advance, whichever is easier. We will send you the figure for your family before anything is due. Enrolment is a minimum commitment of two weeks, and the refund policy explains how that works.
Transport is available from a pick-up point if you need it, and it is added to your weekly fee rather than built into everybody’s. Tell us on the registration form and we will confirm your route.
A small number of places each season are funded by our partners. The conversation stays between you and us, and no one at Sarabi is told which kind of place a child holds, including the coaches.
Before you pay
All set out in full under Privacy & policies, including what happens if we cancel a session and what happens if your child cannot continue.
Places are limited. Registration for Season One is open now.

An eight-week season, running in person and online. Fifteen in-person sessions on Wednesdays and Saturdays, short online sessions in between, and a role for every child from the first week to the last.
Move
Active challenges, coordination and team missions, with every child trained as a player, a coach or a referee and rotated through all three across the season.
Lead
Speaking, planning and leading. Each child works on one project across the season and, by the end, stands up and runs part of a session themselves.
Every date
All at 9.00am, two hours. Your child comes on both days, and the weekly fee covers both.
Saturday 12 December is Jamhuri Day. We are keeping it as the closing showcase, so families can come and watch what the children have been building.
The three stages
Children aged 6 to 14, in three stages. The three strengths stay the same at every stage. What changes is how much of the session they run themselves.
AGES 6 TO 8
Explore. Try things. Make friends.
AGES 9 TO 11
Develop skills. Find interests. Speak up. Take responsibility.
AGES 12 TO 14
Lead. Mentor. Decide. Prepare for what comes next.

Season themes
Whatever a child is doing, the whole of Sarabi works on the same idea for the length of a season. The mentors name it, the group returns to it, and it turns up in the Growth Note at the end.
A mentor speaks to you before the season starts, so the placement is right. Registration is open now.

Child safeguarding
Effective September 2026. Applies in person and online, to coaches, mentors, volunteers, drivers, parents at our activities, visitors, and anyone acting for Sarabi Kids.
Sarabi Kids exists to help children grow in confidence. That only works if every child in our programme is genuinely safe while they are with us. This policy sets out how we protect the children in our care, what we expect from anyone working with them, and what happens if a concern is ever raised. Winning, or finishing a project, will never be more important than protecting a child.
This policy applies to coaches and assistant coaches, mentors, volunteers, drivers and anyone accompanying children on Sarabi Kids transport, parents and guardians while attending Sarabi Kids activities, visitors, and anyone else acting on behalf of Sarabi Kids. It applies in the same way to sessions held in person and to sessions held online. Everyone involved with Sarabi Kids shares responsibility for safeguarding children.
Anyone coaching, mentoring, driving or regularly supervising children at Sarabi Kids is vetted before working directly with children. As a minimum this includes a current Certificate of Good Conduct from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations, verification of identity, at least two references, and a recorded conversation about safeguarding expectations. The same standard applies to any role added in future before that person works unsupervised with children. Vetting records are kept securely and are reviewed every two years.
Everyone working with Sarabi Kids children is expected to:
Children at Sarabi Kids are given real roles, including coaching and refereeing their peers, and they are trained for them. A child holding a role never carries responsibility for another child's safety and never supervises another child. An adult is present and accountable at all times, whatever role a child is holding.
Children are released only to a parent or guardian, or to a person the parent or guardian has authorised on the registration form. If an unauthorised person attempts to collect a child, the child is not released and the parent is contacted immediately.
Where a child travels on Sarabi Kids transport from a pick-up point, a named adult other than the driver accompanies the children. A register is taken at the pick-up point and again on arrival, and again on the return journey. Drivers are vetted to the same standard as coaches. Children are released at the pick-up point only to a parent, guardian or authorised person. Pick-up points and routes are treated as confidential information about a child and are not shared outside the people who need them.
Part of every season runs online. The same rules apply on a screen as on the ground.
Coaches and volunteers respect children's privacy at all times. Adults do not enter changing areas or toilets with a child unless it is necessary for safety or welfare, and where assistance is needed another responsible adult is present wherever reasonably possible.
A safeguarding concern can take many forms, including physical, emotional or sexual abuse, neglect or bullying. A concern might come from something a child says, something you observe, or a change in a child's behaviour that worries you. You do not need to be certain something is wrong to raise it. It is always better to raise a concern that turns out to be nothing than to stay silent about something real.
If you have a safeguarding concern about a child at Sarabi Kids, or about the conduct of anyone working with our children, report it to Sarabi Kids immediately at connect@sarabikids.com or +254 739 129 949. A report should include, where possible, the date, time and location of what happened, who was involved, a description of the concern, and any action already taken. Where required, Sarabi Kids reports concerns to the relevant Children's Officer or to the Directorate of Children's Services, in line with the Children Act 2022. A concern involving a risk of immediate harm is reported to the police without delay.
Parents and guardians who have concerns about safeguarding, or about the conduct of anyone acting on behalf of Sarabi Kids, are encouraged to raise them immediately. All concerns are treated seriously, investigated appropriately and handled confidentially, and nobody is penalised for raising a genuine concern. Where a concern is raised about a member of our team, that person is stood down from contact with children while it is looked into.
Sarabi Kids sessions take place at venues we hire, such as school fields and open grounds. Venue staff are not employed by Sarabi Kids, but our own coaches remain responsible for the safety and supervision of Sarabi Kids children throughout every session, whatever the location.
Sarabi Kids has a zero tolerance approach to bullying between children, whether physical, verbal or online. Coaches address unkind behaviour directly and consistently, in a way that fits our value of belonging, and no child is left to handle it alone.
Coaches, mentors, drivers and volunteers receive a safeguarding induction before working with children, and refresher training at least once a year.
This policy is reviewed at least annually, and whenever our team, our venues or our ways of working change.
Privacy notice
Effective September 2026. Sarabi Kids is the data controller, under the Kenya Data Protection Act 2019.
At Sarabi Kids, protecting your child's personal information matters to us as much as protecting your child at a session. This notice explains how we collect, use and protect your child's information and yours, in line with the Kenya Data Protection Act 2019.
Sarabi Kids is a children's development programme for children aged 6 to 14, built around movement, problem-solving, creativity, confidence and real world skills, and running both in person and online. Sarabi Kids is the data controller responsible for the personal information described in this notice. You can reach us using the details at the end.
If you give us your name and contact details at a mall stand, an expo, a school event, through our website or by message, we use them to answer your enquiry and, where you have agreed, to tell you when registration opens and what is coming up. We rely on your consent for marketing messages, and every message we send includes a way to stop receiving them. Where you simply asked us a question and did not agree to marketing, we use your details to answer you and then delete them.
We do not collect information about a child at this stage beyond an age or age range, and we do not ask children at our stands for their contact details.
About your child: full name, date of birth, age, sex where you choose to give it, kit size, and the answers you give us about what your child enjoys and finds difficult. About you: full name, relationship to the child, phone number, email address, emergency contact details, the people you authorise to collect your child, and payment records. We use this to enrol your child, place them in the right space, keep them safe, and communicate with you.
Your child's sex is treated as sensitive personal data under the Act, so the question is optional. Where you give it, we use it for kit, for changing and toilet arrangements, and for how we group and supervise children. It is seen only by the people running your child's sessions, it is never used for anything else, and your child's place does not depend on your answer.
Conditions, allergies, medication, physical limitations and family doctor details where you give them. This is health data and is treated as sensitive personal data under the Act. We collect it only to keep your child safe and to respond properly to an injury or a medical emergency. Access is restricted to the coaches and mentors responsible for your child on the day and to whoever is handling an incident.
Part of every season runs online. To run those sessions we hold the name your child appears under on screen, the times they joined and left, and anything they type in the group chat during the session. Nothing more.
We record a session only where there is a reason to, for example so that a child who missed it can catch up. We tell the group at the start whenever a recording is running. Recordings are stored with access limited to the mentors who need them, are deleted once we no longer need them, and are never published or shared outside Sarabi Kids without your consent.
Sessions run on a mainstream video conferencing service, which acts only as our processor and on our written instructions. It may process information outside Kenya, and the section below on where your information is held applies to it. You may ask us at any time which service we use.
Where you ask for transport, we hold the pick-up point, the route, the days your child travels and the names of the people authorised to receive your child at the pick-up point. We treat this as information about where a child can be found and share it only with the driver and accompanying adult on that route.
Each child has a Growth Note, which is a short written record kept by the mentor who works with them. It records what the mentor observes across a season: what the child is working on, what is developing, and what comes next. It is written in plain words. It contains no grades, no ranking and no comparison with other children, and it is not used to decide anything about your child other than how we coach and mentor them.
The Growth Note is part of how we mentor your child and how we keep you informed about their progress, so we keep one for every child. You may read it at any time, ask us to correct anything in it, and ask us to delete it. It is shared with you, and inside Sarabi Kids only with the mentor and coaches working directly with your child. It is never shared with another parent, a school, a sponsor or a partner.
We take photographs and video at sessions and events. We use them only for the purposes you have ticked on the registration form, which are listed separately for our website, social media, printed promotional material and recordings of online sessions, so that you can agree to some and not others. You may withdraw consent at any time. Withdrawal does not affect material lawfully published before your request reaches us, and we will remove what we reasonably can.
Where we rely on consent, you may withdraw it at any time, and withdrawing it does not affect anything we lawfully did before you withdrew it.
We do not sell or rent your information and we do not use children's information for advertising. We share it only with medical personnel and emergency services in the event of an injury or medical emergency; with government or regulatory authorities where the law requires it, including the Directorate of Children's Services where a safeguarding report must be made; and with the service providers who help us operate, such as our payment provider, our messaging provider and the video conferencing service used for online sessions, each of whom is contractually required to protect it and to use it only on our instructions. You may ask us at any time who these providers currently are.
Your information is held in Kenya and on cloud services that may store it outside Kenya. Where information leaves Kenya, we satisfy ourselves that it is protected to a standard comparable with the Act, and we keep a record of that assessment. You may ask us which providers we currently use.
As a parent or guardian you have the right to be told how your child's information is used, to see it, to have it corrected, to have it deleted where we have no overriding obligation to keep it, to object to certain uses, to withdraw consent, and to ask us to restrict what we do with it while a question is being resolved. We respond within seven days of receiving a request and complete it within thirty days, or tell you why we need longer. There is no charge.
You may also complain to the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner if you believe your rights have been infringed. We would rather you came to us first, but you do not have to.
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect information from loss, misuse and unauthorised access. Access to registration and medical information is limited to the people who need it to run the programme safely. Anyone with access is trained and bound by confidentiality. If a breach occurs that is likely to cause you or your child real harm, we notify the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner within 72 hours of becoming aware of it and tell you without undue delay.
All personal information relating to your child is collected with your consent as their parent or guardian. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children without a parent or guardian involved. Where a child is old enough to have a view about their own information, we listen to it. You may update or correct anything at any time.
We may update this notice. Where a change is significant we tell parents directly. The latest version is always available from Sarabi Kids and on our website.
At Sarabi Kids, trust is earned. We collect only what we genuinely need to keep your child safe, run the programme and communicate with you. We will never sell your personal information, and we will never knowingly use your child's information in a way that is inconsistent with this notice. Your child's safety, dignity and privacy come first.
Questions about this notice, or any request about your information, go to connect@sarabikids.com or +254 739 129 949.
Refunds
Effective September 2026. Fees are charged by the week, and enrolment is a minimum commitment of two weeks.
At Sarabi Kids our goal is to be fair, transparent and understanding, while making sure we can keep running a safe, high quality programme for every child. This policy explains when refunds, credits and rescheduling apply.
Fees are charged by the week, and a week covers both days. Enrolment requires a minimum commitment of two weeks. Once a season has begun, the fees for those first two weeks are not refunded, because your child's place, together with coaches, venue and equipment, is reserved specifically for them. Anything you have paid beyond the first two weeks is refunded or credited as set out below.
If you withdraw before the first session of a season, we refund all fees paid, in full. This includes the registration fee and the kit fee where the kit has not yet been issued.
Fees for weeks already attended are not refunded. Once the minimum commitment of two weeks has been met, we may offer a credit towards a future season instead of a cash refund, depending on the circumstances. We know unexpected situations come up, and we consider each request fairly and with care.
If your child cannot continue in a season because of serious illness, injury or another significant medical reason, we may offer a partial credit towards a future season or a partial refund, depending on the circumstances and how many sessions your child has already attended. We ask only that you share reasonable supporting information so we can consider the request properly. Any medical information you give us for this purpose is handled in line with our Privacy Notice and is seen only by the people who need to see it.
Your fees secure your child's place in the season rather than attendance at any individual session. Sessions missed because of illness, family commitments, travel, school activities or other personal reasons are not refunded and cannot normally be moved to another date.
Every season runs partly in person and partly online, and that is how the programme is designed and priced. If heavy weather, a venue that cannot open, a closed road or anything else outside our control stops an in-person session from going ahead, we move that session online and it runs at the same time, with the same mentor and the same group. A session moved online is a session delivered, not a session cancelled, and it does not create a refund or a credit. We tell you as early as we can, and never later than the morning of the session.
If we have to cancel an individual session outright, and cannot deliver it online either, we make every reasonable effort to reschedule it rather than refund it.
If Sarabi Kids cancels an entire season before it begins and we cannot offer a suitable alternative, you receive a full refund of all fees paid.
Occasionally something outside our control, such as severe weather, a public health emergency, government restrictions or a venue closure, affects a season. Where we can, we reschedule sessions, find an alternative venue or move the programme dates. A refund is considered only where no reasonable alternative can be offered.
The registration fee is charged once, when a child first joins Sarabi Kids, and is not charged again for later seasons. The kit fee covers a kit that belongs to your child. Once a kit has been issued, the kit fee is not refunded.
Where you have asked for transport from a pick-up point, transport is charged weekly alongside the programme fee and is refunded on the same basis as the programme fee. If we cannot run transport on a given day, we tell you as early as we can and that week's transport charge is credited.
Scholarship and sponsored places are funded through the generosity of our partners and supporters. They cannot be transferred to another child and are not refundable.
Where a refund is approved we aim to process it within seven to fourteen business days, using the original payment method, unless we agree something else with you.
Every family's circumstances are different. In situations this policy does not specifically cover, we review the request case by case, with fairness and your child's best interests in mind.
To request a refund or discuss a credit, contact Sarabi Kids at connect@sarabikids.com or +254 739 129 949.
Concerns about safeguarding go straight to us, not through a coach.
